A: In-home care benefits seniors who wish to age in place, individuals recovering from illness or surgery, and those with chronic conditions or disabilities who require assistance with daily living. It also offers much-needed relief for family caregivers.

A: Home care includes non-medical assistance such as bathing, dressing, meal prep, and companionship. Home health care involves medical services provided by licensed professionals like nurses or therapists, often under a physician’s direction.

Q: What types of services do you provide?
A: United Respite Care Inc. offers:

  • Homemaking (light housekeeping, laundry, meal prep)

  • Specialized care (e.g., dementia, post-surgery support)

A: We offer flexible scheduling—from a few hours per week (minimum 21 hours) to 24-hour or overnight awake shifts. Services can be personalized. We require 24 hours’ notice for cancellations and 1 week’s notice to end services completely.

A: Yes. Our caregivers receive specialized training for dementia, Alzheimer’s, and post-hospital recovery (e.g., knee or hip surgery, stroke recovery).

Q: How do you screen and hire your caregivers?

A: We conduct thorough background checks (including criminal checks), drug screenings, and reference checks. Most caregivers have 8+ years of experience, and many are BC Registered Caregivers.

A: Yes. Our caregivers undergo ongoing training in personal care, infection control, and handling difficult situations.

A: We strive for consistency by building a dedicated team for each client. If your regular caregiver is unavailable, we provide backup support. You may request a change at any time.

A: We consider each client’s needs, preferences, and personality to match them with a compatible caregiver.

Q: How long have you been in business? Are you licensed and insured?

A: United Respite Care Inc. is fully insured (liability, WCB) and maintains all required licenses.

A: The owner is available 24/7 to respond to urgent concerns or emergencies.

A: Yes. We conduct a thorough assessment and create a written care plan tailored to the client’s needs. This plan is flexible and reviewed weekly.

Q: How much do your services cost?

A: Pricing depends on the level and frequency of care. We provide a full cost breakdown after assessment. No hidden fees. If prices change, we give 2 months’ notice.

A: No long-term contract is required. We ask for a one-week deposit, which is reimbursed within one month after services are fully cancelled.
