My name is Lutgarda Mariano, founder and Care Director of United Respite Care. I started this company because the need for compassionate, reliable senior care became very personal to me. After seeing the challenges faced by my own aging family members, I understood how difficult it can be for families to find care they can truly trust. I also saw how much relief, hope, and confidence the right caregiver can bring into a home.
Before founding United Respite Care, my background in financial services and private post-secondary education administration taught me the value of professionalism, accountability, and service excellence. But caregiving has taught me something even deeper: families need more than a service. They need a partner who listens carefully, responds quickly, and treats their loved one with genuine respect.

We provide personalized in-home support for seniors primarily in Surrey, Delta and Langley, helping them remain safe, comfortable, and connected in the place they know best — home. Whether a family needs temporary relief, daily living assistance, companionship, mobility support, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, or personal care such as bathing, dressing, and hygiene, we tailor every care plan to the individual.
Our approach is collaborative and person-centered. We take time to understand each client’s needs, routines, preferences, personality, and family situation.
