United Respite Care is independently owned and operated. When you call us, you speak to someone genuinely invested in your community and your loved one’s well-being.
Our caregivers average 8+ years of experience and are BC Registered. Every caregiver undergoes criminal record checks, drug screenings, and reference checks before joining our team.
We take the time to understand your loved one’s needs, preferences, and personality before making a match. We believe in care that fits the person, not just the schedule.
We create a written, personalized care plan from the start. It’s reviewed every week so that as your loved one’s needs change, their care changes with them.
Through our online portal, we log every visit, including activities, observations, and health changes. You always know how your loved one is doing, even when you can’t be there.
Your loved one’s care is overseen by a dedicated case manager who reviews every visit, ensures quality of care, and makes sure nothing is ever missed.
In most cases, we can arrange care very quickly after your initial consultation. We’ll do our best to get your loved one the help they need without unnecessary delay.
We ask for a minimum of 21 hours per week. This ensures your loved one receives consistent, meaningful care rather than occasional drop-ins. We’re happy to talk through what a schedule might look like for your family.
No referral needed. You can contact us directly, and we’ll guide you through everything from there. Getting started is simpler than most families expect.
The cost of home care varies depending on the type of care, hours needed, and your loved one’s specific situation. We’re transparent about our rates and will walk you through pricing during your complimentary consultation.

Our dad unexpectedly passed away last year, leaving my mother, who suffers from Parkinson's, alone with an uncertain future. We were not sure how to proceed or who to turn to. I am very happy with the thoughtful and timely care I received from you and your team. Both women were exceptional in their own way. Sum was friendly and efficient, I only had to tell her how to do something once. If I wanted to chat for a while, we’d have nice conversations. And if I just wanted to relax before trying to sleep she sat quietly. If I woke during the night, she was right there to see if I needed something, I really enjoyed the time we had together. The other young lady was very efficient and ready to see if I needed something. I had a low O2 one time, so we upped my level until my O2 was better. She was quick to check it regularly. If I move around in bed during the night, she was right there to see if I needed anything and of course check my O2 if I was awake. She was not quite as talkative as Sum, but a joy to have around and it didn’t feel strange having another new person in the house. Normally I’m a bit leery having strange people around, but they both fit in right away. I would highly recommend United Respite and the 2 women who looked after me through the night.
